Janine Weiss provides outside counsel advice and advocacy to small-to-medium sized businesses, emerging companies, startups, and entrepreneurs in highly regulated industries. She assists clients with company formation, contracts review, negotiations, intellectual property defense, and regulatory compliance. In addition, Janine counsels clients on advertising, consumer protection, e-commerce, and regulatory matters.
Prior to joining Bird Law Group, Janine worked in “Big Law,” where she counseled clients on compliance with regulatory requirements relating to direct-to-consumer advertising and marketing practices, privacy, and consumer marketing and sales. Her other work included assisting clients in responding to regulatory inquiries by the Federal Trade Commission and in single or multi-state enforcement actions by state Attorney Generals on issues related to affiliate marketing and other online marketing activities and sales practices. She also has a background in litigation, representing manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and motor vehicles in consumer protection, advertising, and healthcare actions.
Janine graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where she served as executive editor of the University of Miami’s Business Law Review and interned at the Center for Economic Development and Design. Janine has published articles for multiple publications, including the Orange County Business Journal. She is also co-owner of Little Sprout, LLC, an apparel company for new mothers.
As a California native, Janine enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.
